IIW guideline for the implementation of ISO 3834 in welding technology companies The guideline entitled "Improving the quality and effectiveness of welding by utilizing the standard ISO 3834 - Guideline for company implementation" serves as assistance for welding technology companies which are striving for certification according to ISO 3834 - "Quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials". Remarks are made about necessary processes and about the documentation. The publication was fundamentally elaborated for the application of Part 2 of ISO 3834 but a lot of remarks can be applied to Parts 3 and 4 of ISO 3834 as well.However, the document should not be used as the basis for the execution of audits.This publication is primarily intended for people who are responsible for the quality control in welding technology. However, since the quality of the products ultimately also has a decisive influence on the business operations and their successful continuation, the document is also a helpful tool for managerial personnel as well as for sales employees in order to be able to understand the advantages of this QM system to be found in the controlled and risk-reduced manufacture of a product and to use these for the marketing. The guideline was drawn up by the international body SC Qual (Select Committee Quality Management in Welding and Allied Processes) of IIW - International Institute of Welding.
